Our Commitment
We see our farm and our land as a living entity. As such we treat our land with compassionate respect. By supporting us and our farm you are supporting a family who cares for the well being of our land, our community and our planet. You have our commitment that we will:
- Never use chemicals, biocides, synthetic fertilizers, hormones, antibiotics, GMO's etc. of any kind on anything that is part of our farm
- Continue to allow places on our farm for wildlife and wild plants to flourish
- Support other local farmers and businesses who share our values
- Only purchase animal supplements and minerals that are organic
- Facilitate a connection between our community and their food
- Continue to utilize management practices that contribute to the overall health of our farm
- Only purchase additional animal feed that comes from certified organic farms or farms that manage their land as we do
- Strive to have a "self-sustained" farm by growing all our animals dietary needs on the farm
“Why do farmers farm, given their economic adversities on top of the many frustrations and difficulties normal to farming? And always the answer is: "Love. They must do it for love." Farmers farm for the love of farming. They love to watch and nurture the growth of plants. They love to live in the presence of animals. They love to work outdoors. They love the weather, maybe even when it is making them miserable. They love to live where they work and to work where they live."
